Is winter finally here in Southern California? I’m not really sure because one minute it’s chilly and the next minute we are back in t-shirts and flip flops. We have had unusual weather all year. If you’re looking for a break to escape from all the stress, consider Glen Ivy Hot Springs for a warm, relaxing retreat that’s not too far away. I was just there with friends, because spa days are always better with friends. With strategic planning, we headed there after drop-offs, changed into our bathing suits, walked around in our bathrobes, had services, met up for lunch and cocktails, lounged around in hot pools and played in … READ MORE >>
As a Mom, it is hard to think of myself when there is so much that needs to be done, but I do believe making time for myself to recharge is important. I am looking forward to summer break when I don’t have to wake up at 6:30 am to nag my kids to get ready for school, no more homework tears, and let’s not mention occasional road rage during school drop-off and pick-up lines. I do get a lot done in the morning when I am by myself – running errands and sometimes I get to meet friends for coffee or a hike. What a treat! (We are going to have fun this summer too. Also our mani’s and pedi’s came with an ice cream treat at the end! At Great Wolf Lodge in SoCal, there’s a spa designed for kids called Scooops Kid Spa. It’s great for Mommy & Me or in this case, girl time with my niece. Hint: It’s open to the public! You don’t need to be hotel guests to experience Scooops and the first two hours of parking is free with validation. For our appointment, we all borrowed their … READ MORE >>
Right before my birthday, UnBOOKED Appointments invited me to try their services and share my experience with my readers. The booking process was very simple. (Tip: Current promo – register your email to get a $20 credit!) After scanning through their database which includes local services at their slow times or off-peak times offering it to us at a discounted price, I picked a two hour appointment at Massage Heights in Irvine (60 minute facial and 60 minute massage). It came out to $110 (before tax and gratuity). Right before my appointment, I received email and text reminders which I liked. Their lobby was clean and organized. I instantly felt … READ MORE >>
