Deloris in SISTER ACT is Fabulous,Baby! @SegerstromArts @SisterActTour #SisterActOC #Review

We received media tickets to SISTER ACT’s Grand Opening night at Segerstrom Center so I sent my sister-in-law Nhi this week. She took her friend Carolina for a Girl’s Night Out for her birthday and her first Broadway musical experience. Here is what they thought:

“Carolina and I had a blast!! The plot was right on and they chose actors who closely matched the movie. I thought it perfectly translated on stage. I loved the acting and vocals. The actors delivered an intensely high energy performance, and I especially loved it when all the nuns sang together. The stage was set up perfectly, and it was beautifully choreographed. The costumes also made a lasting impression. In short, SISTER ACT is recommended for someone looking for a ridiculously fun and groovy time.” – Nhi

Thanks for sharing, Nhi. Now, when my friend Jenn told me her date cancelled on her for the following night’s performance and I was her back up, of course, I said – YES!!

Before (or after the show), look for “Stage a Screen” where you can learn about SISTER ACT’s timeline.

Can you Name That Nun?

I knew we were in for a fun night when we heard this, “Using your cell phone is a sin. Can I get an AMEN?”
I haven’t seen the movie in a while so didn’t know what to expect but remembered Whoopi was hilarious. At times I felt I was in a real church, but that was because they set it up so nicely. It was like praying with a twist and lots of funny moments. All the cast members were fun to watch, but my favorite characters were Deloris and Sister Mary Robert. The vocals were amazing and uplifting. Delores, the star of the show, rocked the stage, because she’s fabulous! At the end, there was a special guest appearance and they received a standing ovation.
“When you’re singing, it’s rejoicing. Raise your voice and rejoice.” – Deloris

It’s always fun with friends and I got to enjoy yet another wonderful Broadway experience at the beautiful Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Thanks, Jenn for inviting me to be your plus one!
