Family Photo Shoot with Allen Taylor Photography | @AllenTaylorFoto

Spread the love

Recently, we were at Yorba Regional Park for a family photo shoot with photographer Allen Taylor. It was a morning shoot (highly recommended with small children) and as we took a nice nature walk around the park, we saw ducks, lots of green, and shade. If you have small children, you know how hard it is to capture a good family photo plus we don’t last very long so we appreciated the peacefulness from our environment.

Here’s a few from our photo shoot…

We LOVE this one. It’s just a picture of us walking, but why do we love it so much? (Maybe because it looks natural?)

I LOVE my boys and I just love seeing them together. Ok besides capturing my boys, check out the vibrant colors in this picture and how it’s balanced. That’s really hard to do without washing out something in the picture. Allen is a professional!

In this couple’s picture, I like how the light reflects off my hair, the changing colors of the leaves, and how we’re just sitting at a table, but we look extremely comfortable.

And after going through all the pictures, I had a hard time deciding on just one to enlarge (when there are so many great shots). I had to remember why we scheduled it in the first place so I finally narrowed it down to this family one. I LOVED how Allen was able to capture some personality in our family photo. Photos like these are what goes in our collection, and we can cherish forever.

We especially enjoyed our experience with Allen and his wife Wendy (his second shooter) as we felt comfortable and never felt rushed. When our mini-session was done, we didn’t realize it was over, and couldn’t wait to see the results.

Here were some tips on how to dress for your photo shoot by Allen Taylor:

  • Wear mostly dark or light clothing to keep from looking too “busy”.
  • Consider similar shades or complimentary colors.
  • Wear solid color fabrics; no-patterns or logos.
  • Long sleeves and pants are best and help reduce distractions.
  • You can mix colors as long as they harmonize and are subdued.
  • Think coordinating outfits not matching.
  • Bring a picnic blanket so you can sit down.
  • For kids, bring a favorite toy or stuff animal.
  • Please be punctual. If there is any change of plan, please call.
  • Have fun!
