Last week, a girlfriend and I had plans for a night out which included Happy Hour and theater tickets to see a classic production of THE WIZARD OF OZ at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in OC. We could not wait!
Photo Op located on the 2nd Floor at The Wizard of Oz – Segerstrom Center. |

Danielle Wade makes a wonderful Dorothy, and we loved watching the classic film come to life. Listening to Professor Marvel (Jay Brazeau) from Wonders of the World talk about all his amazing travels makes me want to see them too! Scarecrow (Jamie McKnight) made us laugh out loud (loved him), and even though The Wicked Witch of the West (Jacquelyn Piro Donovan) was frightful and REALLY wanted those shoes, the audience loved her!
There’s an AMAZING tornado scene which will have you wondering – WOW! How did they do that???

Some of the costumes had Swarovski elements – JUST BEAUTIFUL.
We enjoyed singing along to classic tunes and appreciated famous lines like,
- “Somewhere over the Rainbow…”
- “Come out, come out, wherever you are…”
- “Are you a good witch or a bad witch?”
- “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead”
- “Lions and Tigers and Bears, OH MY”
- “I’ll get you my pretty!”
- “Follow the yellow brick road…”
- “If I only had a brain/heart/the nerve.”
- “We’re off to see the Wizard…”
- The Yellow Brick Road to Oz. Fill out a yellow brick (located on the 2nd floor). What would you ask The Wizard for?
- There’s a No Place Like Home map located on the 3rd floor. Place a star where you call home.
- Remember this in school? There’s a hands on Tornado Demo also located on the 3rd floor next to the map.
- You can also learn fun facts about the film leading up to stage productions.
- Photo Ops available on the 2nd floor. Don’t forget to use hashtag #WizardOC to tag your photos.
Thanks, THE WIZARD OF OZ and Segerstrom Center, for a wonderful evening fun for both children and adults! We loved the production!
