STEAM Carnival is the creation of Los Angeles-based engineering entertainment company Two Bit Circus. This interdisciplinary team of artists, inventors, engineers, and entrepreneurs is passionate about reimagining all forms of entertainment to inspire kids of all ages. Members of the team have been on-camera inventors for network television, built viral videos for rock bands, and created massive spectacles for large brands. Clients include Amazon, Intel, the Girl Scouts of America, and Dave & Buster’s.
WHAT IS STEAM?
Priority disciplines include STEAM: science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Over the next 10 years STEM job creation, a superset of STEAM, will outpace non-STEM jobs significantly, growing 17 percent compared to 9.8 percent for non-STEM positions. Adding Art to STEM is a natural fit, promoting creativity and problem solving skills that complement STEM disciplines. Despite this job growth, American corporations are struggling to find skilled workers in these fields with 60 percent of new 21st century jobs requiring skills possessed by only 20 percent of the current workforce. STEAM has a branding problem, and we intend to fix it.
