The concert “Home for Christmas – The Symphony Tour” was the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season. The performance filled the Segerstrom Center with sounds of holiday classics, including a full symphony on stage, a traditional bagpipe, and the fiery fiddle of Máiréad Nesbitt. The music and lighting was mesmerizing and uplifting.
This particular Celtic Woman concert had only three main singers instead of the usual four. Nonetheless, the blended voices of the talented women were pure and sweet. The ladies were beautiful in their red evening gowns. And of course, Mairead Nesbitt, the fiddler was incredible as always. She exhibited an incomparable combination of energy, talent and beauty. She engaged the audience not only through her showmanship, but actually looked fans in the eye and smiled at them.
Although this was a Christmas tour with familiar Christmas music, my favorite songs that evening had to be “You Raise Me Up” and “Danny Boy” after my own sweet Danny. Thanks so much for a wonderful evening to celebrate the holiday season!
