New Jalapeno Grilled Cheese Sandwiches at Boudin Bakery!

Spread the love

Ever wonder why Boudin Bakery’s sourdough bread taste uniquely different from all the others? Last week we went to a grilled cheese sandwich sampling at Boudin’s in Huntington Beach. We met with Corporate Chef Alan Skversky who explains to us that Boudin’s sourdough bread has no yeast, contains only 4 ingredients, and is unique to San Francisco because of a bacteria that is only found in San Fran.

We sampled The Great Grilled Cheese (you can currently find it on the menu with or without bacon), the new Jalapeno Grilled Cheese, and the Grilled Brie with Apples & Fig (also currently on the menu and one of our favorites).

The Great Grilled Cheese

The Great Grilled Cheese includes Havarti & sharp cheddar on Parmesan-crusted sourdough bread. They use Havarti cheese, because they want to use premium ingredients. You can also order it with bacon or ham. The Great with Bacon which includes three strips of applewood smoked bacon. On this sandwich, Chef explains that the bacon is strategically cut and placed in the sandwich in a way that each bite (from start to finish) is the same from crust to crust.

Jalapeno Grilled Cheese

The new Jalapeno Grilled Cheese comes with only cheddar on their Jalapeno Sourdough Bread. The jalapenos are mild, and the sandwich has the right amount of heat. It doesn’t get a Parmesan-crusted bread, because it doesn’t need it. It tastes great, and I can’t wait to have it again.
