REVIEW: Disney’s NEWSIES Musical at Segerstrom Center #newsiesontour #scfta

Spread the love

Get your Papes! Disney’s Newsies is spreading the headlines in Orange County! I loved it! Disney released the movie Newsies in 1992 and since then I have been a huge fan. I was beyond excited and so grateful for the opportunity to cover this for my dear friend, Mary. It was emotional for me just to think about the performance. My mom, who passed away 9 years ago, would sing the songs with me as I got my rollerblades on to circle the block. This is very nostalgic to my brother (my date) and I.

What I didn’t know was how amazing the live performance is. The Strike and Rally begins… Seize the Day! From the moment we entered Segerstrom Center, I knew this would be the best night. The memorabilia was on point from the key chain to the Newsboy hat! I fell for everything and settled on a coffee mug thanks to my bro. We were able to check out the cute photo ops on the second floor and snap a few pics before heading into our seats.

My, please see it… but you too will watch in pure enjoyment. Knowing the story line, I anticipated so many changes and things not done right. That was the complete opposite of what I saw and wanted more of! There is one minor change… do you know it… it’s simple, but I don’t want to give it away. It isn’t even significant since it’s so well played out.

Dad would be on tears! I really hope everyone gets to see the live performance of Newsies while it is here in Orange County. Seize the Day!! It’s running for 2 weeks…that’s it… I wonder how many more times I can see it myself.
