Post written by Kyla Armstrong. Kyla attended a media preview. Segerstrom Hall is definitely alive with THE SOUND OF MUSIC! This beloved Rodgers and Hammerstein musical did not disappoint and I appreciated the opportunity to discuss the backstory and climate in which The Sound of Music takes place with my daughter. It was so fun to see this musical through her eyes and the anticipation of what would happen in all the story lines. What would happen with Rolf and Liesel? Will Captain von Trapp really marry Frau Schraeder? What will happen to the family now that the Nazis have invaded Austria? Her excitement and the the suspense of the story was palpable as she sat on the edge of her seat or snuggled into my shoulder during the tense parts.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by three time Tony Award® winner Jack O’Brien, features music from Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, book by Howard Lindsay and Russell Crouse, and choreographed by Daniel Mefford. For more information, please visit www.TheSoundOfMusicOnTour.com.
