Planning weekly meals for the family is often challenging for me, because I only want to make one grocery run for the week, and I can’t spend too much time putting it together so if I am missing an ingredient for the recipe, I have to find a new one. Foster Farms has new product called BAKED that are in the frozen section at Albertson’s or Vons. They come in 1.5 lb bags and you can always have them as a back up or if you need to make quick meals. I was up for the challenge so they sent me coupons to try the product for free. I ended up making three simple meals that are so easy. If I can do it, anyone can do it.
Foster Farms Baked Breast Fillets
The three BAKED products from Foster Farms are: Breast Nuggets, Breast Tenders and Breast Fillets. They are 100% all natural chicken, shaped breaded white meat chicken with rib meat. Their baked chicken was never fried. It’s 50% less fat and has 25% fewer calories than other USDA breaded fried boneless chicken. There are no added hormones or steroids used in the chicken. They’re fully-cooked so all you have to do is take them out of the freezer, heat and serve. You can microwave or deep fry them for about 3 minutes, but I baked mine on a baking sheet while I was prepping the side dishes. Suggested conventional oven heating instructions were 10-12 minutes for the nuggets, 12-15 minutes for the breast tenders, and about 19-24 minutes for the breast fillets.
Foster Farms Baked Breast Tenders
There are so many things that go with breaded chicken. Here are three easy dinners I prepared just using what I had already, and I didn’t spend all night preparing our meals. With the BAKED Breast Nuggets, I just paired it with Mac and Cheese and added a side of fresh snap peas as a veggie. For the BAKED Breast Strips, I made rice pilaf and a side of steamed broccoli. I wanted to make chicken burgers with the BAKED Breast Fillets but since I forgot the buns, I decided to toss spaghetti noodles with olive oil, basil leaves from my mini-window garden, cherry tomatoes from my fridge, coarse kosher salt and pepper. I thought it turned out better than I thought and the breast fillets were moist. I’m so glad I didn’t over heat them. There you go! That’s three nights of quick dinners right there with frozen chicken. Another option would be to eat it with your favorite salad, but we can go on and on.
