Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa is a Polynesian-themed resort located about 8 miles from San Diego International Airport and close to nearby popular attractions like SeaWorld San Diego (3 miles), San Diego Zoo (12 miles) and LEGOLAND California (28 miles). FUN FACTS: “The San Diego hotel and its surrounding area was originally the summer estate of the Scripps family which they called Braemar. Mrs. Scripps, matriarch of the family, envisioned a simple yet elegant home, a place where the family could enjoy wonderful ocean breezes and comfortable starry nights. The family eventually abandoned their summer estate in late 1955, and it was sold. In 1958, Mr. William D. Evans acquired the property and began construction of what would become the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa. After much deliberation, it was decided that the main constant motif of the ever-changing inn would be drawn from tropical themes and influences.”

BAHIA BELLE

Operating seasonally, the Bahia Belle is a Mississippi-style sternwheeler boat that cruises Mission Bay between the Bahia Resort Hotel and its sister property, the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa. Complimentary for hotel guests, this Mission Bay boat cruise is scenic way to see the area.

Meet the friendly parrots that call the Catamaran resort home. Bianchi, Chadwick, Cornell, Mercer, and Scooter are available to visit without being on-property with this fun and convenient online live camera feed of the colorful birds. The parrots are available to view outside daily, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. pacific time, depending on the weather.
