Post written by me for Cosmeticare. All opinions are my own.
Now that I’m in my forties, I’ve been thinking a lot about self-care and ways to look my best. It makes me feel better overall when I go out to meet with friends or I’m at lunch with my family and people might think, “Oh wow, she’s a mom? She looks great!” That is what I am going for. Just because I’m a mom doesn’t mean I have to look frumpy or like I just rolled out of bed. I want to feel pretty and I want to feel attractive. My kids are older now and I can’t use the excuse anymore that I just had a baby. If you were following my Lipoabdominoplasty Journey last year, it has now been a year. I’m still extremely happy with the results with Dr. Reagan and I had a great experience at Cosmeticare, but it is a very targeted area. Now I’m looking at overall body contouring. For example, I wear a lot of sleeves to cover up my arms and I could use more help shaping my waistline as well as the upper flanks where the bra bulges and also my double chin. I’ve explored exercise, surgery, and also non-invasive procedures. I’m open to trying them all if the timing is right.
At Cosmeticare, there are so many options and they’re not all surgical. For example, they have a whole floor dedicated to just Med Spa services (Bellafill, Injectibles, Coolsculpting®, BOTOX, V-Beam, Erbium, ClearLift, LATISSE, HydraFacial, Dermapen, C02RE Intima, Kybella, truSculpt, Laser Vein Treatment, Voluma, Sculptra, Juvederm, and more!) You walk in for 30 minutes to one hour appointments and come right back out and go about your day with little-to-none downtime. There is a ton of information on their website. You can even “try on a look” for free without talking to someone. It’s on their website under New Look Now or look for a button to upload your photo. A simulated photo will be emailed to you within a couple of days.
Why Coolsculpting
I have a Coolsculpting appointment for my upper arms. I picked this procedure because it is non-surgical, FDA-cleared, effective, and the results are long-term. Coolsculpting works by delivering controlled cooling to target the fat cells underneath the skin. The fat cells are frozen then die. Over time, your body naturally processes it and eliminates it. During the treatment, a gel pad and applicator is applied to the targeted area and the applicator uses a vacuum to draw the tissue into the applicator cup. We might feel pulling, tugging and mild pinching and a cold sensation that will go away. Each application is called a cycle and depending on your area of need, you may need more than one treatment. My appointment will be for an hour, the applicator will be on for 35 minutes, and I might feel sore after, but the feeling will go away, I can go back to work with no down time, and it will continue to keep working up to six weeks. I’ll definitely write another post on how my experience went and have tips for you so be sure to check back for updates if this is something you are considering. I’m looking forward to wearing sleeveless again, because there are so many cute dresses out there that I can’t wear because of my arms.
