If you and your kids love playgrounds because your kids have all this energy they need to burn, I get it! They need to stay active or they’ll drive us crazy. It’s a good thing too, because they are getting exercise and they’re working on their gross motor skills. But have you been to an Inclusive Playground by Landscape Structures? There is one in Orange County called BOX CANYON PARK, and it’s located in Yorba Linda. We visited it recently and there are so many features for all abilities at various levels. The structures are fun and inviting. I think it’s even wheel chair and stroller accessible.  I mean who wouldn’t want to climb a tall ship, a rock wall, or a castle? Once you get up there, you want to run across the bridges as fast as you can, take the slides down, and then do it over and over again. My kids ran back and forth to try them all. I couldn’t keep up. My boys are older so then I followed my niece around. I just let her lead the way, and I stayed close-by to make sure she was safe. She did everything herself, and I didn’t have to help her once. It was non-stop for at least an hour. There were benches throughout the park for parents to rest too.

Inclusive Play goes beyond accessibility. It can help kids learn life lessons such as leadership, persistence, support and empathy. Landscape Structures Inc. consults with experts to focus on these four defined areas of developmental skills: Sensory, Motor, Cognitive, Social/Emotional. I think it’s amazing that these parks exist, and wished we had these when my kids were younger. They have parks across the country. When I went on their website to look for a park in South County, they do have them all over, but they’re not all inclusive. The structures are large, fun and inviting. I love seeing the children playing happily outdoors. You can find a park near you too by visiting their website here >> www.playlsi.com
