Northgate González Markets, the one-stop-shop Latino supermarket, celebrates their 36th anniversary with a brand new store in Anaheim and it is Grandioso! It has everything from leading Hispanic and traditional brands, specialty products, and your every day needs. I don’t recall ever shopping at a Northgate so I can’t tell you if they’re all the same, but I was extremely impressed how nice this new store is. It is large, modern, and the selections are wonderful! It has an assortment of produce, bakery, marinated meats, seafood, Mexican cheeses, salsa and ceviche bar, a tortilleria, hot foods, hot tamales, a juice bar, Grab-and-Go’s and more. They have it all!
Their in-store Tortilleria Department has over 50 varieties of tortillas, chips, and masas made by hand. WOW! I am in love with their Ceviche Bar and wanted to taste them all. There were at least 12 varieties plus a make-your-own. I also love their fresh Juice Bar. They make this Green Juice with spinach, kale, celery, cucumber, pineapple, and apples. It is their best seller and I am going back for another one!

On Grand Opening Day, the first 300 in line received a free goodie bag so there was a wait to get in and parking was challenging. (I parked over by Kmart but the shopping carts lock up if you are too far from the store so my friend dropped me off at my car.) I’m hoping that is not the norm, but will know when I go back.
