Disney Second Screen Live: Break All the Rules

Spread the love
Looking for something uniquely fun for Halloween? A few weeks ago, we attended a special media preview of Second Screen Live: The Nightmare Before Christmas (available now in select theaters). You may have recalled that we attended another one of these – Disney’s Second Screen Live: Little Mermaid. It’s where you break all the rules and bring your iPad to the movies to interact with the movie via an iPad app. What’s that you say? I’ll tell you all about it below.

GETTING STARTED:
Once inside and the movie is about to begin, the movie screen will walk you through the setup process. You’ll turn on airplane mode and register your name, etc. EASY.

You’ll want to know that it’ll show the entire movie, but will sometimes pause to get you to… HURRY, you have 10 seconds to answer this question correctly! (Brain Scratchers)

How’s your memory? Remember the Simon memory game? Win points for your team!
Now get your voices together and start singing along aloud and really fast. “Laa la la la la laaa…”
You can play casino! Spin the roulette wheel, pull the slots lever, roll the dice and win points!
Now, SCREAM!

Those are only a few games we played. There was also find what’s different and several others. I must confess at the end of the movie, our team did not win, but we had fun nonetheless. At first I thought my kids would be scared of the monsters, but right when you think “oh no, here goes another scary part,” they put up another game to distract. Good job, Disney! Second Screen Live is a whole new way of watching a movie. I wonder what movie is coming out next.
