Queen Mary CHILL Alice in Winterland Review + Giveaway!

Spread the love

CHILL returns to The Queen Mary in Long Beach for a fifth year with a new interactive experience – Alice in Winterland! We try to go every year, and it’s one of our favorite holiday adventures in Southern California! Not only will there be ice skating, ice tubing, sleigh rides, and visits with Santa, this year CHILL brings an inspired re-imagination of the classic Lewis Carroll story to life through an interactive and digitally immersed 14,000 square foot walk-through experience November 23, 2016 through January 8, 2017.

We checked out this year’s CHILL at The Queen Mary and I think the biggy this year was there is no ice sculptures, but we still enjoyed their theme this year – Alice and the Winterland. Here are some activities we liked. In the Holiday Village, there is live entertainment, swings, a giant rocking horse, bounce house, and opportunities to meet Santa. The little ones might like making their own stockings, or story time with Mrs. Claus (there is a fee for hot chocolate and it comes with a souvenir mug). Ice skate under the stars to the backdrop of The Queen Mary could make a great date night (day time is fun too).

Being from the mid-west, it’s hard to get the Christmas feel in Orange County sometimes, but visiting the CHILL Village and exploring all the festivities at CHILL is great fun. Here are a few things you can do…
  • Glacier Glide Ice Tubing with six lanes of glistening ice slides standing two stories tall and 100-feet long.
  • Ice skate under the stars on the 6,000 square-foot ice skating rink with the backdrop of the picturesque Queen Mary ship.
  • Stroll through the North Pole Village and stop by the Queen Mary Village’s post office to send a letter to Santa.
  • Take a spin on the Swinging Sleigh Ride, the Giant Rocking Horse.
  • Play Prancer’s Paintball.
  • Make a festive edible creation at the Gingerbread House, or
  • Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Claus Cottage.

Overall we enjoyed CHILL this year and all the holiday festivities. CHILL is one of our favorite events of the season and although there were no ice sculptures this year, we still had a great time. Want an idea of what all the activities cost? I took a photo of their fee schedule below! Thank you, The Queen Mary, for hosting our family!

Happy Holidays!

~Mary
