Beautiful – The Carole King Musical is based on the extraordinary life and talent of composer and singer-songwriter of one the most successful female musical artists of her time. Writing her first number one hit, “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” at the age of seventeen, Carole King went on to become a huge sensation through her dedication, passion and hard work. This not to be missed, inspiring story takes us through King’s early teenage years in Brooklyn, her relationship with her first husband and musical collaborator Gerry Goffin, and other important and influential people, such as best friends and fellow writers Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, that helped shape her life and career. In highlighting her hardships, successes and rise to stardom along the way, we get a glimpse into her life and the inspiration behind her music and voice. The audience will see her move from being part of a songwriting team to becoming a popular and widely successful solo artist. Featuring many of her beloved and timeless songs enjoyed by audiences all around the world, “I Feel the Earth Move”, “It’s Too Late”, “You’ve Got a Friend”, (You Make Me Feel Like) a Natural Woman” to name a few of her most famous and popular hits. The Tony, Grammy, and Olivier Award winning Musical, Beautiful will be performing at Segerstrom Center for the Arts starting October 9th through October 14th.
