Mikhailovsky Ballet and Orchestra from St. Petersburg, Russia bring the classic Spanish novel by Miguel de Cervantes “Don Quixote” to life! They will perform in Orange County at Segerstrom Center for the Arts starting November 9th through November 11th as part of the International Dance Series. “Don Quixote” is a ballet full of energy, romance, chivalry and comedy. Driven by the visions of Dulcinea, the knight in not-so-shiny armor of la Mancha, Don Quixote, along with his squire, Sancho Panza, are the heroes of this story. They aid in the love story of the beautiful maiden, Kitri, and the barber, Basilio. We will see an explosion of character, color and great stamina from the dancers as they show their amazing technique, jumps and turns.
“From the bravura dancing of the fiery toreador Espada to the colorful caravan of gypsies, the stage will explode with one show-stopping performance after another with gravity-defying leaps and spins in this feast of choreographic fireworks.”
