For one of our Family Day adventures, we spent the afternoon at Boomers! Irvine in the arcade and go-kart racing. We couldn’t pass through the arcade without spending some time in here. Deciding what to play first was the challenge. We like arcade games we can play (or ride) together as a family. There are lots to choose from.

GO-KART RACING FOR BIG KIDS

For the big kids, right next to it is Thunder Road. (Drivers must be over 58″ tall. Drivers of the double go-karts carrying a passenger must be at least 18 years old and 58″ tall.) Hint: The double riders are extremely popular. Expect to wait in line for a little while. There are also height restrictions to ride as a passenger (must be 40″)!

Racing around the track for me was pretty cool. The go-karts can go fast, but we control the speed at all times. Some times I felt I was drifting while banking the curves. The passenger steering wheel was nice for the kids.

SECURED SHOES REQUIRED

This is extremely important. Don’t get all the way up there to be denied. You’ll need secured shoes! This is strictly enforced. No flip flops, sandals without back straps, or other unsecured shoes. (Someone in our party always forgets, and they feel left out.)
