Santa Cruz – Monterey Bay KOA Camping Tips

Disclosure: Post written in collaboration with Kampgrounds of America. All opinions are our own.  Summer is here! We just couldn’t wait to get out for some rest and relaxation. The moment we found out Kampgrounds of America locations were opening back up, we couldn’t wait to book a stay. The first part of 2020 has been highly unusual. Like many others across the world, we have been quarantining and trying to be safe. I have only left the house once a week for essentials. Even leaving for that trip was stressful. Looking back, I really do not remember much from the month of April and May. Between my kids’ distance … READ MORE >>

Travel Tips – Monterey Peninsula’s Sanctuary Vacation Rentals

Written in collaboration with Sanctuary Vacation Rentals. All opinions are our own. One of our favorite destinations in California is the Monterey Peninsula which is along the central coast. It includes cities like Big Sur, Carmel, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Monterey, Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach. Every few years we revisit the area, because we love it so much. The scenic coastal drive has several vista points which are breathtaking, majestic, and picturesque. If you stop and wait long enough, sometimes you can spot whales. Our trips never feel long enough even though we are there three to four days. One of these days I would like to try hiking, camping, or a … READ MORE >>

Zion National Park Tips

Written in collaboration with Kampgrounds of America aka KOA. Opinions are our own. We have made Father’s Day Week our annual camping trip for the last three years. We have found that it is a nice way to kick off the summer right when school ends, and the national parks are not yet overcrowded. We think it’s because everyone is saving up their vacation for 4th of July which is only a couple of weeks away. It’s always better with friends and family, but it requires more planning and doesn’t always work out because of scheduling conflicts. This year we visited Zion National Park in Utah, because it was highly … READ MORE >>

Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort

I am often surprised when locals tell me they have never been to Newport Dunes in Newport Beach. They’re the ones with the oversized inflatable obstacle course in the bay. They have a beach, a water park, and they offer water activities like kayaking, stand up paddleboards, pedal boats, and electric Duffy boats available for rent. During the summer, they usually host free movies on the beach. They also offer luxury camping, RV camping, and tent camping sites. Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and Back Bay Bistro has a lineup of Labor Day weekend events beginning Friday, August 30 through Monday, September 2. Bring the whole family to enjoy the water … READ MORE >>
