Where to Eat

If you're looking for ideas where to take the family for lunch or dinner, here are some family-friendly places I have tried.

Splitsville Luxury Lanes Opens at Downtown Disney Anaheim

Splitsville Luxury Lanes at Downtown Disney District in Anaheim has been open since March 15th. With 600 dining seats, two craft cocktail bars, two bustling kitchens, 20 bowling lanes and a covered patio with a stage that features live music 365 days a year, Splitsville makes a great option for special nights out with family and friends! We have been. The food is great, and the way they lay out the lanes, it feels like little private bowling parties. I mean have you been to a bowling alley that serves sushi? It’s fancy, right? They have other locations nationwide, but this location offers more than 40,000 square feet of entertainment space … READ MORE

John’s Incredible Pizza Company Opens NEW Westminster Mall Location!

John’s Incredible Pizza Company is celebrating their 25th Anniversary, and if you haven’t visited one, you’re going to wonder what took you so long. My kids love it! We go, because right now my kids enjoy arcades, and I go because their All-You-Can-Eat-Buffet has a wide range of options for everyone and it’s not terribly expensive. In Orange County, there is one at Buena Park Mall and now one at Westminster Mall.   All You Can Eat Buffet! I remember the first time going to one of these, the biggest surprise is you can’t just walk in and play games. Purchasing their All-You-Can-Eat Buffet is required. So if you plan … READ MORE

House of Blues Anaheim Birthday Dinner + OMD Concert Recap!

Post written by me for House of Blues. All opinions are my own.  My husband and I both have birthdays in April. We are about a week apart so we often blow out our candles together. One of our favorite celebrations this year was at a Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD) concert at the House of Blues in Anaheim. They’re one of our favorite 80’s band, and they still sound good after all this time! They performed mostly their greatest hits and some of their new songs. It was nostalgic, and we would love to see them again live if they ever come back! Dinner Before the Concert Before the concert, … READ MORE

Knotts Berry Farm Boysenberry Festival Elote

Knott’s Berry Farm Boysenberry Festival Tasting Card Deal 8 for $30!

It’s that time of year again where we can all say, “Yay!” to All Things Boysenberry! Lucky for us, we don’t have to go far, because it’s celebrated right here in Orange County where it became famous. The boysenberry is a cross between a loganberry, red raspberry and blackberry and is named after its originator Rudolf Boysen. Back then Knott’s Berry Farm was a working farm, and the Knott family were the first to successfully harvest and sell the berry. It has changed so much, but the berry is the still the same berry, and every year they throw a party for several days in honor of it. This year’s Boysenberry … READ MORE

Mardi Gras Party Ideas + Easy King Cake Recipe from Scratch

You don’t have to live in New Orleans or wait for Mardi Gras season to enjoy a King Cake. My friend Caryn shared this recipe with me, and I have made it twice already. It tastes like a cinnamon roll, and I modified the icing to include cream cheese. My family and friends love it! Now that I found a recipe that I can easily replicate, I can make it year-round or whenever we want. It is definitely a crowd-pleaser. You might not know this about me, but I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. I did not grow up there, but we still have family residing there so we … READ MORE

Papps Seafood San Pedro Lobser Mac Cheese

Pappy’s Seafood Restaurant in Historical Downtown San Pedro

Pappy’s Seafood recently opened up in San Pedro. You might know their sister restaurant, The Albright, which is located on the Santa Monica Pier.  We visited about a month ago for a menu tasting, and the best way I can describe it is – they’re a full service fish-and-chips place but better! Pappy’s includes sustainable and local seafood, sourced fresh from the Port of Los Angeles. You’ll find dishes like tacos with scratch-made tortillas, fish plates, salads, appetizers like lobster mac and cheese (yummy) and a shrimp cake slider. They also have sandwiches like lobster roll (my favorite!), shrimp po’ boy, tuna melts, and burgers. They even have a kid’s menu. … READ MORE
