It’s My First Time Getting BOTOX!

I went into CosmetiCare Medspa for my first BOTOX treatment. It’s suppose to help freeze my 11’s between my eyebrows. When I was younger I was very proud that I was able to make facial expressions that my friends couldn’t do. Well now after years of raising my eyebrows and making funny faces, the creases are there even though I’m not using those muscles. From what I understand, as time passes our skin becomes less elastic and those moderate to severe frown lines remain even when our muscles aren’t moving. BOTOX is meant to be preventative and it will help make me look more rested as well as look natural.

BOTOX Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in people 18 to 65 years of age for a short period of time. It is nonsurgical and noninvasive.

Thank you, CosmetiCare, for sponsoring this post!

Before the procedure, Dr. Champion asked me what my concerns were and asked me to frown for her. My wrinkles were not that bad but as you can see it’s still there when I’m not using it. We started out with 20 units. She first cleaned the area with alcohol, and then she used one syringe needle for about 8 shots. It stung a little, but it was over in about a minute. I did feel a little lightheaded after, but that was because I didn’t eat breakfast that morning. It’s a slow process which takes about a week to kick-in, but it has little down time, the peak results will be about 3 to 4 weeks, and the results will lasts about 3 months. She suggested no heavy lifting for first 24 hours because she didn’t want blood to rush to the head or area. I can’t wait to look more rested!
