Months ago PANINI KABOB GRILL (formerly Panini Cafe) opened a new location at the Kaleidoscope in Mission Viejo. I love Mediterranean food and have been wanting to try it out with my family. This casual family restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily offering fresh, healthy and high quality Mediterranean options in generous portions. They have salads, paninis, wraps, shish kabobs, vegetarian, and a kid’s menu. They only use organic eggs, hormone and antibiotic-free proteins, and use nothing processed or containing MSG. They also makes all items from scratch with fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs and dairy delivered every morning. They use imported olive oil and cheeses from Europe, grass-fed and hormone free meats, and all of their produce, as well as just-baked bread from La Brea Bakery bread, are delivered fresh daily.
Healthy Entrees
My go-to dish is their grounded seasoned beef shish kabobs with basmati rice. I got my family to like it too. It is full of flavor! Theirs is called Beef Koobiden Kabob. We made it a combo and added a side of Flat Iron Steak Shish Kabob. (pictured below) It comes with basmati rice, grilled veggies and a side salad. You can always get Shish Kabobs in steak, chicken, lamb, salmon or shrimp. Vegetarian entrees include a Falafel Platter, Charbroiled Organic Tofu Kabobs, and Stuffed Bell Peppers. Family Platters can be ordered for sharing, and a Kids Menu is available to children 12 and under. I felt great after eating their Mediterranean Salmon Salad, but you see how huge it is right? (pictured above) It comes on a bed of mixed greens topped with cucumber, roma tomatoes, red onion, olives, feta and lemon & balsalmic vinaigrette.
WEEK DAY BREAKFAST
The restaurant serves breakfast on weekdays until 11am and on weekends until 3pm. The menu includes an assortment of Eggs, Paninis, Wraps, French Toast and more. Panini serves LaVazza coffee, and soy or almond milk can be substituted in espresso drinks for no extra charge. They also have a selection of sparkling wine, wine and beer.
DESSERTS
Their desserts are good! Which one would you pick? Panini Kabob Grill have desserts made from scratch! (Tiramisu, Banana Bread Pudding with Hawaiian Sweet Bread, and Walnut Baklava with Pistachio.) Tried them all and they were all so delicious. (My kid’s favorite was the Tiramisu.)
