Last week we attended a media preview of The Queen Mary’s CHILL right before it opened to the public. This is their second annual year in Southern California, and we could not wait! Exploring the ice sculptures in THE ICE KINGDOM is one of our favorite holiday experiences! This year’s theme is The Nutcracker. Remember when the mice were fighting with the nutcracker? The works of art are just amazing! Here are some highlights… Once inside the dome, you’ll have to decide if you want to visit THE ICE KINGDOM or go ice tubing at the Glacier Glide. How’s Ice Skating with The Queen Mary for a back drop? It’s breathtaking! Our most favorite part of the entire visit is THE ICE KINGDOM! With 9 degree temperatures, you can only imagine how cold it gets in there. Luckily, they provide these blue parkas in different sizes, however, everyone still complains it’s too cold. Here’s my tip for you, pack gloves and dress in thick layers. Last year I wore my snowboarding pants and my husband wore jeans. He rushed through the whole thing while I comfortably stayed behind to take pictures.
After you exit THE ICE KINGDOM, you’ll want to stop by their Gift Shop for Christmas inspiration. I love all the unique ornaments and decorated Christmas trees. There’s also a cafe if you want to warm up with a hot beverage. We had a wonderful experience and thought it was even better than last year (and we really enjoyed it last year!). If you’re looking to get in the holiday spirit in sunny SoCal with your family or for a romantic night out, you’ll have to check out the festivities at The Queen Mary’s CHILL.
