Pumpkin Patch at Irvine Park Railroad Make Great Photo Ops

Halloween is one of our most favorite time of year! We love pumpkin patches, coordinating costumes, and attending Halloween Parties. It also reminds me that I need to take great pictures for upcoming holiday cards to share with family and friends, or it’s more quality time I can capture for a photo book. I love how the fall colors just pop in the background. I’m not always successful, because getting my kids to smile for the camera is just really hard, but it’s worth a shot, because these are our precious memories. Here are some highlights I wanted to share along with some pictures that I love from the Pumpkin Patch at Irvine Park Railroad. My kids love the train rides here. It takes you around the park and through a haunted tunnel.

My friend took this photo of us with my camera while we were cooling off with snow cones and I LOVE IT!! (Location: Our backs are to the haunted house).

Pumpkin Patch Activities

This year’s Pumpkin Patch activities include: Train rides, hay rides, panning for gold, a child-friendly haunted house, a hay maze, a moon bounce, pumpkin ring toss, carnival games, cookie decorating, John Deere tractor racers, face painting, picture stands, great food, and more!

New for 2016

Irvine Park Railroad’s “Great Pumpkin Weigh Off!” This activity will take place on Saturday, September 24th starting at 11:00 am. Come see if Southern California pumpkin growers have what it takes to grow the biggest pumpkin in Orange County. Cash prizes will be awarded. And, a live band will play on this day only from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Irvine Park Railroad’s Pumpkin Patch offers a great opportunity to get some beautiful photos of your family. It gets warm this time of year so if you plan to dress in costume, I highly recommend bringing a change of clothing. It also tends to get extremely busy on the weekends so if you want to avoid some of the traffic, go on a weekday or go super early in the morning. My kids enjoy the activities as well as the hay maze. There are lots of sizes to choose from when you’re looking for that perfect pumpkin. Carts are available to help transport them to your car.

Have fun!
