RECAP: Hoag’s Summer Movie 2014 #Fundraiser | #HoagSummerMovie @HoagHealth

On June 11th, Hoag Hospital Foundation had their 27th Annual Summer Movie Classic which raised money to benefit Hoag Hospital. It featured food tastings from OC’s finest restaurants and featured the film Gravity at The Hanger at OC Fairgrounds. Each of the local restaurants donated their time and talent to the event to raise funds for Hoag. We were all in for a delicious evening.

The live music added to a relaxing evening.

Naked guacamole at Sol Cocina.

Wine samplings were available. I went for the pink blend from Orange County Coast Winery’s The Endless Summer Collection.

Have you had anything like this? At Turnip Rose Catering, just ask for “the works” and they’ll make this amazing brownie “Pazookie”.

The event also featured a raffle that included gift packages from participating restaurants and a grand prize of a one-year-lease for a BMW 428i Coupe, courtesy of Sterling BMW in Newport Beach.

Time for the movie!

What’s a movie without concessions? We were spoiled with candy, nachos, churros, pretzels, and popcorn!

Here’s a partial list of the participating restaurants:

A Restaurant, Red O, Sol Cocina, Pitfire Artisan Pizza, Antonello Ristorante & Enoteca Lounge, Nello Cucina, Quattro Caffé, Bear Flag Fish Co., Blackmarket Bakery, Boudin Bakery, Café 538, Caliente, The Counter, DP Catering, Orange Coast Winery, Blue Water Grill, Ho Sum Bistro, Kéan Coffee, Newport Landing, Harborside, Picante Martin’s, Royal Thai Cuisine, Muldoon’s Irish Pub, Maggiano’s Little Italy, Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine, Santa Monica Seafood, Straub Distributing, Turnip Rose, 24 Carrots, Gabbi’s Mexican Kitchen, Newport Rib Company, and more!

We had our fill at Hoag’s Summer Movie this year. It was well organized, we enjoyed the entertainment, sampling the different cuisines as well as the movie selection, and we felt we were a part of a great cause. Thanks, Hoag Foundation, for including us this year!
