Most recently Darren and I went to a media menu tasting at Five Crowns Restaurant in Corona Del Mar. What a treat! They are celebrating their 50th Anniversary, and we were both in for a delicious evening tasting their new 5-course fall/winter menu with wine pairing.
Our second course was Mediterranean Sea Bass which came out perfectly with shrimp, cauliflower florets, caper brown butter, and chervil. Suggested Pairing: 2014 Opolo, Viognier, Central Coast.
Their Deckle Steak as our fourth course was a taste of tender steak, and it comes with sweet potato coins, haricot vert, and herb butter. Suggested Pairing: 2012 Bishop’s Peak, Elevation, Paso Robles.
