New Location! Lucilles BBQ Now at Santa Ana Main Place Mall! #lucillesbbq

What’s your favorite way to enjoy BBQ? For us, since I haven’t mastered the art of barbecuing, I leave it up to the experts and enjoy it at restaurants like Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que. Now with their newest location at Main Place Mall in Santa Ana, it’s super easy for us to get to. We were there recently sampling their menu, and we really like the new space with lots of windows and lighting. (They’re on the second floor where the old Macy’s Men’s Department/Furniture used to be.)

Table condiments include a variety of BBQ sauces convenient for your liking. Not sure what’s your favorite? Taste them all or mix them up, no one is looking. For starters, it was a battle between Fried Green Tomatoes and Southern Fried Dill Pickles. We liked them both and couldn’t decide what we liked better so we kept tasting them until they were all gone. The tomatoes come with this delicious roasted red pepper cream sauce, and the fried pickles has a creole mustard dipping sauce and ranch dressing that I don’t think you even really need.

Of course, we came for the BBQ so let’s get down to it. They have BBQ Tri Tip, BBQ half chicken, baby back ribs, St. Louis ribs, beef ribs, sausage, pulled pork, rib tips and brisket burnt ends. How am I suppose to even decide? Well their BBQ Two Meat Combo allows me to select any two, and it includes homemade biscuits and two sides. I recommend sharing it!

Side Options are Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, French Fries, Sweet Potato Fries, Baked Potato, Potato Salad, Macaroni & Cheese, Creamy Cheese Grits, Southern Braised Greens, Creamy Coleslaw, Honey Roasted Peanut Slaw, Fresh Vegetables, BBQ Beans, Fresh Corn on the Cob or Potato Chips. A salad or cup of soup can be added for an additional fee.

Kids Menu

For entrees, select from penne pasta, chicken fingers, grilled cheese sandwich, mini-corn dogs, sliced tri tip, mac-n-cheese, cheeseburger, chicken quesadilla, baby back ribs, or bbq chicken breast. All children’s meals include a choice of milk, apple juice or a bottomless soft drink and a choice of one side (Macaroni & cheese, watermelon, jr. salad, shoestring fries, sliced carrots with ranch, sliced tomatoes.)

What a great family dinner at Lucille’s BBQ! I really like their new space because it’s open and bright PLUS the food was delicious. I like BBQ when someone else does it for me. Warm towels came out for us to clean our hands. I like to do tastings, because I get to try new items on the menu from what I normally order. Have you been to Lucille’s BBQ? What’s your favorite item on the menu? Let me know!
