What another amazing year at CHOC Walk in the Park! It was an early rise for all of us, but we were so anxious to get started, we couldn’t even sleep the night before. I think my team slept 1.5 to 3 hours because we stayed up all night talking. You’d think we never see each other. What was it? Was it because we didn’t want to miss our alarms or maybe it was because we haven’t had a slumber party in so long. We needed to be at Downtown Disney by 5:00 a.m. PST to make it to the Opening Ceremony at 6:15 a.m. at Main Street USA. Coffee was a must, but other things that took time was find parking, getting through security, and walking over to the front of the Disneyland park entrance alone takes about another thirty minutes. There were a lot of walkers waiting already, but no one was complaining.
In the newest production from Feld Entertainment, Avengers assemble in MARVEL UNIVERSE LIVE! AGE OF HEROES to defeat evil. Spiderman, the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Doctor Strange join forces in an all out battle to recover the Wand of Watoomb. The show is action-packed, and there’s something for fans of all ages to enjoy. At times it was hard to focus because they utilized the whole stage and all the heroes were on at the same time. Some of my favorite parts of the show was the use of immersive video projection and cutting-edge special effects which transitioned the scenes and transported the audience across the universe from China to New York City and beyond. No violence here as it is a family show, but it didn’t lack punches or crazy stunts. There is a lot going on and the hardest part was choosing which hero you want to see more of. If you go, be sure to put on your Marvel gear and represent! Marvel Universe LIVE! Age of Heroes will travel throughout North America on a multiyear tour, including stops in Denver, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Dallas, Miami and New York. After North America, the show will embark on an international tour starting in 2019. There are millions of mixed-breed dog owners across the U.S. that will need help finding reliable breed ancestry information to properly care for their 4-legged friend. On Mother’s Day this year, we took our boys to Discovery Science Center to meet a life-sized Baby T-Rex from Walking With Dinosaurs – The Arena Spectacular. While we waited for the presentation to begin, the kids enjoyed running around the Prehistoric Plaza located toward the back of the center where they explored fossil digs. At Dino Quest: Kids can go on a fun and educational scavenger hunt at Discovery Cube Orange County. Jere Lipps, Director of the John D. Cooper Archaeological and Paleontological Center, came out to introduce himself. We learned that there were not too many Orange County dinosaurs, but there were findings.
