Love a good classic movie with great food? This annual fundraising event is not only for a great cause, but it will leave your taste buds happy. Hoag Hospital Foundation’s 552 Club just announced their 26th annual Summer Movie Classic event to be held at a new location this year – The Hangar at the OC Fairgrounds. The event will feature tastings from more than 30 of Orange County’s finest restaurants alongside a private screening of the Hollywood classic, Casablanca. Garden Grove Strawberry Festival is May 24-27th! @GGStrawberryFst

We try to go to this every year. For some, it’s a tradition. The 55th Annual Garden Grove Strawberry Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for the community. This annual event has brought in over $6 million for local charities since its inception in 1958. In 2012, thirteen non-profits received a combined total of over $122,581.00. This year’s theme is: Celebrating 55 Years of Helping Local Kids. The event will contribute funds to youth-oriented charities, and the festival board also permits many of them to sell food and hold games at the event where they raise thousands of dollars for their organizations. I just took the pledge to stand up to bullying and its damaging effect on children, schools and communities and invite you to do the same. This week I was invited to share a story about bullying. Some of you know that my child has a mild form of Autism. He is high functioning and looks like a normal kid, but he has a hard time focusing during his lessons, because of his sensory needs which distracts him from learning.
