Travel Tips – Monterey Peninsula’s Sanctuary Vacation Rentals

Written in collaboration with Sanctuary Vacation Rentals. All opinions are our own.

One of our favorite destinations in California is the Monterey Peninsula which is along the central coast. It includes cities like Big Sur, Carmel, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Monterey, Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach. Every few years we revisit the area, because we love it so much. The scenic coastal drive has several vista points which are breathtaking, majestic, and picturesque. If you stop and wait long enough, sometimes you can spot whales. Our trips never feel long enough even though we are there three to four days. One of these days I would like to try hiking, camping, or a family picnic while the kids are still young. Staying in a long-term rental might be the solution. Sanctuary Vacation Rentals have nearly 100 homes across the peninsula, and they offer both short-term and long-term luxury rentals.

Our last visit was in November in which we stayed in a beautiful home managed by Sanctuary Vacation Rentals, the Spanish Bay Coastal Retreat. It felt like we were staying in a resort, only better because we had a lot of space and privacy. The house was large enough to accommodate several families with a three car garage, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a full kitchen, dining area, large living space which had three separate seating areas, a laundry room, and large outdoor seating area. It was centrally located in Pebble Beach, walking distance to the beach and golf course, as well as in close proximation to the famous 17-Mile Drive. It was our home away from home. The kitchen was fully equipped so I felt compelled to cook. The grocery store was conveniently a short drive away. We were very comfortable, and my family loved it. The company texted us a few times to check on us and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed.
