Check Out the #Endeavour @CAScienceCenter (IMAX Theater Tix Giveaway ends 6/30)

We recently visited the Endeavour Space Shuttle at the California Science Center.
It was amazing.

Did you know that admissions to the California Science Center is Free?? I didn’t, but now you do. All you do is pay for parking, and if you want to see an IMAX movie, a special traveling exhibit, or ride an attraction, that’s extra. TIP: Even though seeing the Endeavour Exhibit is FREE, you’ll want to reserve your “timed ticket” online before you go. Follow along as I highlight some of my findings. Prepare to be amazed.

THE ENDEAVOUR EXPERIENCE
Suggested: Start your experience with Endeavour: The California Story, an introduction to Endeavour.

1. Endeavour: The California Story (located near Island Zone – 2nd floor, Ecosystems wing). Features Endeavour’s toilet and gallery; tires from STS-134, and the Rocketdyne Operations Support Center from Canoga Park, CA that was used to monitor the first 8.5 minutes of every shuttle launch.

HUBBLE 3D:
Through the power of IMAX® 3D, Hubble 3D will enable movie-goers to journey through distant galaxies to explore the grandeur and mysteries of our celestial surroundings, and accompany space-walking astronauts as they attempt the most difficult and important tasks in NASA’s history. The film will offer an inspiring and unique look into the Hubble Space Telescope’s legacy and highlight its profound impact on the way we view the universe and ourselves.

  • BLUE PLANET:
Featuring footage taken by crews during five space shuttle missions, audiences will see a view of their global home that is as close to being in orbit with the astronauts as one can possibly get. In the first few moments of the film, a breathtaking earth rise fills the giant screen, shimmering blue and majestic in the blackness of space. Then viewers are brought in closer to explore the fragile balance of life on Earth and the forces that work on it: storms, volcanoes, earthquakes and, perhaps the most powerful force, humankind.
  • TO THE ARCTIC 3D:
To the Arctic 3D takes you on a never before seen journey into the lives of a mother polar bear and her two seven-month old cubs as they navigate the changing Arctic wilderness they call home. Captivating, adventurous, and intimate footage brings you up close and personal with this family’s struggle to survive and thrive in a frigid environment of melting ice, immense glaciers, spectacular waterfalls, and majestic snow-bound peaks.
