Review: Disney’s The Lion King Musical @SegerstromArts #LionKingMusical

You may have noticed that I was at Press Night of Disney’s The Lion King Musical with my son. I’ve seen it many years ago when it first came to Los Angeles in 2000. It was amazing then, and still wonderful today. Everyone remembers The Lion King, but imagine life-sized elephant puppetry and rhinos coming down the aisles of Segerstrom Hall while they sing “Circle of Life”. It was such a beautiful performance and the rest is nothing but amazing as well.

My favorite part was when Nala sang “Shadowland” as she had to leave her family, and when they all sang “He Lives in You”. If you are missing your dad, it will make you cry. Other songs include: “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King”, “Be Prepared”, “One by One”, “Endless Night”, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”, and “King of Pride Rock”.

The cast of The Lion King delivered a strong performance. All the ensemble singers and dancers made the show extra special. The night was full of heartfelt singing, fierce costumes, astonishing special effects, and romance. It was fun and funny. I absolutely loved it and was happy my son was with me to experience it too. Thank you for coming back to perform in Orange County!

Disney’s The Lion King is now performing at Segerstrom Center through Sunday, November 1, 2015! Please visit Segerstrom Center’s website for more information at www.scfta.org.
