My Lipoabdominoplasty Journey Part V – 6 Weeks Post Op Follow Up!

If you are following my mommy makeover journey with Cosmeticare, I want to give you a quick update. I’m back for my six weeks follow-up appointment after lipo-abdominoplasty, and today my surgeon, Dr. Brian Reagan, removed all restrictions! What a sense of relief! Now I can work out again. The first week seemed like the longest, the second week was much better, and the rest is a blur after I started driving again. Many have asked me if it was painful, and I tell them all – I wasn’t in pain, just uncomfortable. I was only on meds for about a week, and because I am afraid to feel pain, I stayed on top of it. Everyone as Cosmeticare has consistently been wonderful at every visit, and I was there quite often (about eight visits and counting). Even the office staff held the doors open for me coming off the elevator. It’s like they can tell I just had a procedure done, and they wanted to make sure I was comfortable as soon as possible. Sometimes I went straight off the elevator and through the back door so I’m not sitting in the waiting room with others.

My Lipoabdominoplasty Journey Part 4 – 2 Week Post Op Recovery & Tips

If you are following my mommy makeover journey with Lipoabdominoplasty, it has been two weeks since my procedure at COSMETICARE with Dr. Brian Reagan, and I’m doing great. I started walking up straight the same day thanks to tension sutures. My doctor is amazing! I’ve been off pain meds for days, I’m showering, walking but walking slow, sleeping in my own bed (no longer on the couch), still drinking lots of water, stronger every day, and I had a lymphatic massage yesterday. I’m still wearing my binder as instructed and will soon switch to Spanx. Everyone that visited me say they are surprised how well I am doing in this short amount of time. I don’t recommend this because it is a lot of walking, but I was at Disneyland a few days after they said I could drive again and I took lots of breaks. I have some helpful tips that could make recovery a bit easier below. (Pictured: Day of Surgery, 1 Week Check up, and 2 Weeks Follow-Up).

My Lipoabdominoplasty Journey Part 3 – Surgery Day

f you are following my mommy makeover journey with Lipoabdominoplasty at COSMETICARE with Dr. Brian Reagan, my surgery day went extremely well. I think the hardest part on the day of surgery was the wait time. I was a little nervous going in. I packed a tote with all my prescribed medications, my ID, cell phone, a small pillow. I wore my glasses, post surgery gown, undergarments, and flip flops. I didn’t eat or drink anything as instructed since 9:30 pm the night before. I brushed my teeth and tried not to swallow anything and especially no drinking water. It’s suppose to help with the vomiting and I didn’t even once. My husband dropped me off at 6:45 am. I was the only patient there and the lobby was quiet. I took a urine pregnancy test and waited for them to call me back. The wait wasn’t super long, but my mind wanted to freak out. I suggest bringing something to read, look at pictures of loved ones, play app games or anything to keep your mind from thinking the worst. Think happy thoughts. I waited a little bit in the lobby and asked them to turn on the television. I didn’t care what it was, because I just needed background noise.

My Body Contouring Abdominoplasty Journey – Part II Scheduling and Pre-Op

If you are following my abdominoplasty journey, my surgery date is this week, and is scheduled with Dr. Brian Reagan at Cosmeticare. They required a $500 deposit to secure the date. You can go in as many times as you need for free consultations, but when it starts getting serious and you want to lock down a date, they’ll ask for a deposit. The deposit is applied toward your balance, and it is refundable if you change your mind. You can understand that they want you fully committed and no last minute cancellations are acceptable. They have to schedule staff and book the facility, etc. Since I won’t be able to drive for two weeks, I had to schedule around my children’s school schedule. For us, summer time is best. My second option would be around the holidays. When you book your surgery, you will also need to make an appointment 1-2 weeks prior for Pre-Op (pre-operation) instructions. I recommend 2 weeks if possible. During those two weeks, I filled prescriptions and went shopping for this post-operation garment they recommended. They call it a muumuu with a zipper, and I found it at Kohls online as a zip-front robe. I also ran last minute errands, stocked up on groceries and needed down time to mentally prepare.
