ZOOMARS Petting Zoo’s Pumpkinpalooza + Kids’ Favorites!

We’re wrapping up the last few days of October with a week to Halloween to go! I cannot wait for cooler weather after a week of scorching heat, but we still have time to have fun and visit pumpkin patches. Have you been to ZOOMARS Petting Zoo in San Juan Capistrano? It is a cute little petting zoo with more than 200 animals ranging from gregarious goats, sheep, potbellied pigs, exotic emu, humpbacked zebu cows, llamas, bunnies, and our favorite – the guinea pigs! I know you have seen photos of children hugging and feeding them somewhere. Well it is right here at ZOOMARS. They also have a kiddie train, pony rides, gold panning, a large play structure, and a corn box. During October, ZOOMARS is transformed into PUMPKINPALOOZA offering a family-style pumpkin patch with kid-friendly hay maze, pumpkin decorating, and all of the other activities mentioned above.

Make Money for Your School with Fundraising Wristbands at Pumpkin City’s Pumpkin Farm

We’re so lucky there are lots of fun pumpkin patches around Orange County to enjoy this time of year. I want to add another to that list – Pumpkin City’s Pumpkin Farm at Laguna Hills Mall. They started out as a pick-up load of pumpkins in 1978 and has grown to what it is today – a destination to celebrate the season! There are several rides for children, a petting zoo, pony rides, game booths, lots of photo ops, pumpkins and more! Admission is free as well as parking, and, on the weekends, there is a puppet show. The area is enclosed with one entrance and one exit. We were there mostly during the day with an abundance of natural lighting, but in the evening, it is also well lit and lively. We were also invited to experience their Fundraiser Wristband Passes which included unlimited rides and petting zoo on select school fundraiser nights. More on this below!

Top 4 Pumpkin Patches in Orange County!

Halloween is one of our most favorite time of year! It is a month long celebration for us. We love to visit pumpkin patches and themed attractions, coordinate costumes, attend parties, and last year we added painting pumpkins. I really can’t wait to do it all over again this year. Pumpkin Patches are the perfect backdrop to get some wonderful seasonal photos to share with family and friends. I love how the fall colors just pop in the background. We tell all new families to take their children to pumpkin patches for photos and take advantage of the natural lighting. They’re also a great place to find the perfect pumpkins. They are very popular and tend to get busy later in season so if you have small children, you might want to plan ahead like go early, avoid weekends if possible o go right when it opens, and pack a change of clothes because it’s still hot through the end of October. Here are six locations in Orange County! Please check their websites for the most information.
